The Roots & Culture Movement was created to provide a bridge between African Diasporans and the traditional African cultural experience. It is our belief that by connecting Diasporans with various elements of African culture from music, dance, art, language and spirituality, it helps to bridge the gap between what was lost and what can never be lost. The Roots & Culture Movement is aimed at providing meaning, healing and positive experiences to build self esteem and to give a diasporans a voice to through which they can express their authentic self.
The Back To Nature Movement (Bahia, Brazil)
"The Back To Nature Movement” is about taking this ancient healing technology that we call Yoga and practicing it in the highest frequency element available: NATURE (RAINFOREST). We use the frequencies of the sun to heal and illuminate our energy bodies. The bare earth beneath our feet connects us to the core energy of the earth, grounding us in our purpose and true essence. When we combine the Nude Yoga experience with the healing properties of the Rainforest, healing must come! There is no higher spiritual practice than coming to nature as you were delivered from your mother’s womb. We are connecting back to the source which is the Great Mother of us ALL and we are doing it as a community, a village, a tribe."
Private Tours & Retreats
Private Tours & Retreats allow participants to really lean into their experience. The private tour/retreat is custom designed based on the needs and desires of each participant. Without the typical distractions and challenges of the group the participant/s can hone in on specific interests and can shift things when necessary, at will. Tour guides can give more time and personal energy during private tours and retreats. Private tours and retreats typical consist of no more than 1-3 people at a time.

The Roots & Culture Yoga Retreat (September 1st-12th) is for socially conscious travelers looking for a culturally satisfying 12 day experience that focuses on holistic wellness, gaining a deeper knowledge of local African culture and being of service to the local community. The retreat involve 2 days of volunteering with The Riverkeeepers Foundation locates in the North Volta Region of the country. The Riverkeeepers Foundation is a youth leadership organization. The retreat provides jobs for over 25 local people, in addition to over 10 businesses ranging from transportation, cultural artists, hospitality and service workers from Accra, Cape Coast, in addition to Kumasi and the Volta.
Participants can expect to have a true Kemetic Yoga experience infused with some of the richest aspects of Ghanaian culture ranging from the infamous Cape Coast Festivals (the largest festival in Ghana) Traditional dance, African drumming, Twi & Ewe language lessons as well as having access to natural hair care, traditional clothing made by local tailors and so much more!
Most importantly, the Roots & Culture Retreat was created with the intention to make this transformational international travel experience affordable and accessible for individuals & families. For that reason, all children that are 12 years old and under (accompanied by a paying adult) will attend for free!!! PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS A TWO CHILD LIMIT PER EACH PAYING
